Membership of the Institute consists of ordinary members, and the following classes of membership:
- Full Member – a person who has successfully completed the Certificate IV in On-site Environmental Management course.
- Associate Member – a person who has enrolled in the Certificate IV in On-site Environmental Management course, or who has demonstrated to the management committee considerable experience in the field.
- Corporate member – an organisation that supports the Institute of On-site Environmental Management.
- Patron Member – a person that wishes to be involved with the organisation by offering substantial financial or in-kind assistance to the Institute. The person must demonstrate to the management committee considerable experience in the field of On-site Environmental Management.
